How to Cancel Residence Application
For more information on the Residence Cancellation Policy, please visit their website. If you are no longer interested in living in residence at the University of Alberta, please cancel your residence application immediately. If you'd like to change your application to another residence, visit the Incoming Residents page to learn more. If you would like to cancel your residence application and/or reservation, please email housing@ualberta.ca from your UAlberta email account and include your student ID# and the reason for cancelling your application.

Residence Application
Once your CCID is created, you will be sent a communication leading them to the Residence Services website to complete your application and pay your residence application fee within the StarRez portal. Your information will be pre-populated in the system and you will be able to indicate you residence preference information, complete the roommate questionnaire, and, if interested, submit for a cohort or lifestyle community. Student Housing for FNMI Students
Residence Services and First Peoples' House offers four secured residential options for First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students. All available housing locations can be found on the Housing for FNMI Students website. Aboriginal House 1 - East Campus Village Marge's House - East Campus Village HUB International Hosue How to apply: To apply, complete the following three steps: Complete the online First Peoples' House Residence Application Complete the Residence Services online application and pay the $25 non-refundable fee*. Both houses are located in East Campus Village Please email First Peoples' House at fph@ualberta.ca and confirm that both applications have been completed and the application fee has been paid. Once confirmed, the Engagement Coordinator will follow up with you to book a housing interview. *If you do not have a credit card for the Residence Services online application, you must still complete the online application. Once it asks you for a credit card number, stop the online application and contact Residence Services to arrange payment at 780-492-3345 For all First Peoples' House Residences housing options, a $500 Residence Deposit is required to reserve your space and will be applied to your first month's rent or any outstanding balance on your resident account. Rent includes everything EXCEPT internet, cable, phone, and food. Application Deadlines: Please apply early for your best chance at being offered a space in residence. First-Year Housing Guarantee First-year undergraduate students applying for North Campus residence by April 30 are guaranteed a space in residence! Residence Deposit
A $500 residence deposit is required to secure your place in Residence. This deposit is transferred to Bear Tracks as a credit on your Residence and Meal Plan Accounts. The credit will then be applied to the first outstanding residence changes on your student account. For most students, it will be applied to your first month's rent. Your residence deposit payment deadline will be displayed on your Residence Account. Please review your account for more information. Residence Fees and Payment Options
For a detailed fee breakdown, please see the Residence Fees Payment Information page. You can also see more information in Bear Tracks under 'Financial Account' by clicking on 'Payment Options and Deadlines'. Once processed, payments applied to your account can be viewed in Bear Tracks under 'Financial Account', by clicking on 'Payment History'. This will display information for the most recent academic year. If you wish to see payments for prior years, please select the date range by clicking on the 'Filter' button at the top of the page. Please note that payments can take several business days to process. * If you have an outstanding balance to pay, this will be displayed under 'Account Balance'. Payment Deadlines Your rent payment schedule will depend on your payment type (monthly or term) as described in your rental agreement. Monthly payments are due on the last day of the month for the upcoming month - for example, February rent is posted on January 15 and January 31. For Term Contracts, rent is charged on September 15 and/or January 15 and is due at the same time as the tuition deadline for each term. Residence fees applied to your Bear Tracks account, such as those for locks & keys, cleaning & repairs, garbage disposal, or operational fees are due within 14 days of the initial charge. After this time, interest will be assessed to your account for late payment. For a more detailed breakdown of fees please see the Residence Fees page. Available Payment Options for Students: Online Bill Payment Option 1: Sign in to Bear Tracks Select "Financials" > "Make a payment" Make sure pop-ups are enabled in your browser Select your bank from the dropdown menu Log in to the bank website in the pop-up tab Option 2: Access your bank website Log in to your bank account Interac Payment (Visa Debit/MasterCard Debit not accepted) Sign into Bear Tracks, then select "Financials" > "Make a payment" Enter payment amount where prompted in the Interac Payment box - select Residence Select from available banks listed on the Interac Website and process payment Cheque Drop-Off Cheques may be dropped off in the 3rd floor Administration Building dropbox. Mailing Address: University of Alberta, 3rd Floor Administration Building, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2M7 Cheque is payable to the University of Alberta, Provide Student Name, ID # and identify as a residence payment. Credit Card Students may pay by credit card through PayMyTuition. Service fees may apply. International Students Payments from outside of Canada can be made through PayMyTuition or by using Convera and selecting "Residence/Meal Plan" At your Financial Banking Institution Use the payment form at your bank within Canada Questions? Residence options for 2SLGBTQIA+ Students
Gender-inclusive room assignments are available across campus to support students regardless of their sex, gender, gender identity or gender expression. Gender-inclusive housing assignments may be especially important for: Students in the process of discovering their gender identity and/or engaged in a gender transition Students who identify outside of the male/female gender binary Students who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ Students who feel more comfortable with a roommate of a different gender Incoming students interested in a gender-inclusive room assignment can contact Residence Services by emailing housing@ualberta.ca for more information on residence types that may meet their specific needs and preferences.
