Adobe Express for Students - Access Your University Adobe Express Account
Introduction
Adobe Express is available to eligible University of Alberta students at no additional cost through the University’s Adobe Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA). This article explains how to access Adobe Express and sign in using your University of Alberta account.
Applicability
This article applies to eligible University of Alberta students accessing Adobe Express. For more information about Adobe software eligibility, please refer to Adobe Acrobat and Creative Cloud Eligibility for Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Before You Begin
Before accessing Adobe Express:
- You must first obtain a free Adobe Express license through OnTheHub. If you have not yet requested your license, follow the instructions in Adobe Software - Requesting or Purchasing Through OnTheHub before proceeding.
- Use your primary University email address in the format CCID@ualberta.ca when signing in to Adobe. Do not use an email alias.
- If Adobe asks you to choose between a Personal Account and a Company or School Account, select Company or School Account.
- If you need to use a secondary CCID for Adobe Express, contact the IST Service Desk for assistance.
Access Adobe Express
-
Go to the Adobe Express website and enter your primary University email address in the format CCID@ualberta.ca, then select Continue.

- If prompted to select an account type, choose Company or School Account.

- If prompted, complete the University of Alberta sign-in using your CCID password and follow any additional sign-in prompts.

On the next screen, select Yes to stay signed in if you are using your personal computer.
Important: If you are using a shared or lab computer, select No to avoid leaving your account signed in for other users.

- Once sign-in is complete, Adobe Express should open using your University Adobe account.

If You See a Personal Account
Some students may have previously created a Personal Adobe account using their University email address.
If Adobe displays both Personal Account and Company or School Account, select Company or School Account to access Adobe Express through your University account.
Your Personal Account and University account are separate Adobe profiles even when the same email address is used.
Using a Secondary CCID
Adobe Express access should normally be accessed using your primary University CCID.
If you need to use a secondary CCID with Adobe Express, contact the IST Service Desk for assistance.
Do not use a secondary CCID or email alias to sign in unless it has been specifically configured for Adobe access.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues accessing Adobe Express:
- Confirm that you are signing in using your primary CCID@ualberta.ca address rather than an email alias.
- If prompted to choose an account type, select Company or School Account.
- If you are signed in to a Personal Adobe account, sign out and sign back in using your University account.
- Close your browser and try signing in to Adobe Express again using your primary CCID.
- If you are attempting to use a secondary CCID, contact the IST Service Desk for assistance.
- If the issue continues, contact the IST Service Desk and provide your CCID, a description of the issue, the exact error message, and a screenshot if possible.
