Change Ownership of a Departmental Secondary CCID
Introduction
This document will go over the procedure on how to have a departmental secondary CCID owner changed.
Applicability
This document is intended for Staff and Faculty who manage departmental secondary CCIDs and need to have the owner changed.
Before You Begin
Only a Department's CCID Authorized Approver can change the ownership of departmental secondary CCID.
The IT Service Desk is not able to change the ownership of departmental secondary CCIDs over the phone, they will only be able to direct you to the appropriate team member within a department who can assist with the task.
In cases where a department secondary CCID needs to change ownership to someone from a different department ID, and those two departments do not share the same CCID Authorized Approvers OR the CCID's department ID no longer exists, a ticket will need to be escalated.
Procedure
A department's CCID Authorized Approver can change ownership of a departmental secondary CCID. To find the appropriate person, you can either call the IT Service desk at 780-492-8000 Ext 1, submit a ticket via the Freshservice portal: https://universityofalberta.freshservice.com/support/home, or follow the steps below. The IT Service Desk hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
To find the proper CCID Authorized Approver, you will need either the Department ID number or the Department Name that the department CCID belongs to.
Navigate to https://sites.google.com/ualberta.ca/enterprise-applications/security-forms-and-information/access-information and open the "List of Authorized Approvers."
In the Google Sheet, search either the Department ID or Department name and find the current list of Authorized Approvers for that area.
Find the person listed who has a "Y" under the "CCID" section, they will be able to assist in resetting a department CCID.
If you find that either the Department ID does not exist, or the department does not have an Authorized Approver with a "Y" under CCID. Then a ticket will need to be created via the portal.
