Connect to UWS with an iOS device
Attention:
The UWS wireless network will be retired in the near future. The eduroam wireless network is now the preferred wireless network on campus. Please delete UWS once eduroam has been configured on your device

The eduroam network provides the same network access as UWS.
Introduction
This article will explain how to connect to the University Wireless Service (UWS) with a mobile device running iOS while on-campus at the University of Alberta.
Applicability
The steps in the procedure below apply to anyone with a valid University of Alberta Campus Computing ID (CCID) wishing to connect to UWS from an iOS equipped mobile device.
Procedure
1. From the home screen, tap the Settings icon.

2. In the Settings screen, tap Wi-Fi.

3. First, make sure the Wi-Fi slider is green, which indicates Wi-Fi is turned on. Once it’s on, select UWS from the list of available networks.

4. Enter your CCID in the Username field, and enter your CCID password in the Password field. Tap Join.

5. If you are prompted to accept a wirelessauth.ualberta.ca security certificate, tap Trust.

6. Your iOS device will then connect to UWS.

Required Software versions (or better) to connect to UWS:
A minimum of Apple iOS 11 will be required to connect to the UWS wireless network.
If your device does not meet this minimum requirement please use the Guest@UofA wireless network.
