Readers may experience the error shown below when attempting to open or save Excel 2007 and later macro-enabled workbooks.

Solution
- Open Excel and click File in the menu bar.

- In the bottom left of Excel click Options.

- In the left hand menu of the options window click Trust Center.

- Click Trust Center Settings.

- Select File Block Settings in the left hand pane then remove both checks after Excel 2007 and later Macro-Enabled Workbooks and Templates.
Click OK twice to exit Trust Center.

Try your workbook again.
Microsoft Visual Basic Error

Solution
- Open Excel and click File in the menu bar.

- In the bottom left of Excel click Options.

- In the left hand menu of the options window click Trust Center.

- Click Trust Center Settings.

- Select ActiveX Settings in the left hand pane then select Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting.
Click OK twice to exit Trust Center.

Try your workbook again.
Disabled Macros / Blocked Content Error

Solution - Method 1 - Trusted Locations
- Open Excel and click File in the menu bar.

- In the bottom left of Excel click Options.

- In the left hand menu of the options window click Trust Center.

- Click Trust Center Settings.

- Select Trusted Locations in the left hand pane then click Add new location.

- Click Browse.

Browse to the folder where your macro-enabled workbook is stored. The location you opened it from. In the example below I am choosing my Documents folder.
Click OK.
- Verify you have chosen the right location then click OK
Optional: If you have subfolders which contain macro-enabled workbooks under the folder the folder you have chosen place a check next to Subfolders of this location are also trusted.
Click OK
- Click OK twice to exit Trust Center.
- Try your workbook again. If you get the Disabled Macros / Blocked Content error again attempt method 2 below.
Solution - Method 2 - Enable Macros
- Open Excel and click File in the menu bar.

- In the bottom left of Excel click Options.

- In the left hand menu of the options window click Trust Center.

- Click Trust Center Settings.

- Select Macro Settings in the left hand pane then select Enable VBA macros.
Click OK twice to exit Trust Center.

- Try your workbook again. If you get the Disabled Macros / Blocked Content error again please Contact the Staff Service Centre.
