BYOD - Guidelines for Mobile Number Transfers
Introduction:
This article provides contact information for clients who are transitioning their mobile numbers under the University BYOD program. Clients can choose any carrier they wish, not all mobile carriers are included in this article.
Applicability:
The information in this article is intended for clients who have requested a transfer of their corporate mobile number to a personal mobile account as part of the University BYOD program. The information provided can be used to provide a smoother transition, and is not intended to promote any mobile carrier or plan.

As requested, your mobile number will be removed from your corporate account.

Transferring from Telus or Bell to an EPP (Exclusive Partner Program):
Please note that it is advised to ask for any transfer fees or activation fees to be waived, from any carrier.

Transferring from Telus or Bell to a non-EPP account with Telus:
Contact Telus Mobility Sales Support by calling 1-866-558-2273, or go online or in store. Please tell the representative you are porting your number from the University’s corporate account.

Transferring from Telus or Bell to a non-EPP account with Bell:
Please advise the new account holder to complete the below steps within the next 30 days, in order for the transfer of responsibility request to be processed.
First Step: Future Account Holder
The future account holder (name) contacts the National Channel Support team (NCS) at 1 866 797-3941 to request the transfer of responsibility.
Please be aware of the following:
-The future account holder must be of legal age, pass credit check and accept any resulting conditions, which may involve paying a security deposit (excludes transfers to prepaid account)
-Provide two pieces of government issued identification document (ID) for credit evaluation including one piece of picture ID (example: driver’s license, passport)
-The National Channel Support (NCS) team will discuss consumer pricing options
-If keeping current device, a new Bell SIM card is required. If buying in store, the SIM must be activated while in store
-If not keeping current device, a new device and Bell SIM card are required
Second Step: National Channel Support (NCS)
When contacting the NCS, the future account holder advises them to complete the “Transfer of Responsibility” process and provides the following:
-Request number: 4028241
-Authorization date: June 30, 2025
NCS team operational hours are:
-Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. Sunday: 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. (ET)
Note: NCS only supports Atlantic region from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. (ET), and only supports Western region from 9:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (ET
Present Company Account
Please be aware of the following:
-If the transfer process is not completed within 30 days of the authorization, the present company remains liable for the number
-If the change takes effect outside of your bill date, proration (credits and usage) will reflect in the invoice following the change
-The contract term {No contract} and early termination fee $0.

Transferring from Telus or Bell to a carrier not listed above:
You are able to take your number to a new personal account with any carrier of your choosing. Please find contact information for various carriers online, and tell the carrier representative you are porting your number from the University’s corporate account.
