Xerox multi-function printers (MFP) are able to send faxes and scanned documents to added contacts. The contacts can be configured within the printer itself.

Basic Information

 

There are different ways to scan a document from the printer directly to your email: through apps, the printer screen, automatically configured by IST.

• Due to the variety of models of Xerox printers on campus it is not possible to provide instructions for each model
• Most of this article’s instructions are to be done in front of the printer

If none the instructions linked above are not helpful you may search the Xerox website for your specific model following these instructions:

1. Navigate to the Xerox Product Support and Drivers page: https://www.support.xerox.com/
   
   
2. Enter the model number of your printer (e.g., AltaLink C8045), then click the magnifying glass to search
   
   
   

3. Click the Knowledge Base tab then narrow down your search by choosing the model of your printer and the subject of your search
   
   

• In this case the AltaLink C8045 is in the C8030 /C8035 family and the subject is Scan/Email
  
  
  

4.  You may have to click + Search in the Topics window to find the topic you are looking for
   
   
   

5. Browse through the results until you find the article which addresses your question

1. Navigate to the Xerox Product Support and Drivers page: https://www.support.xerox.com/
   
   
2. Enter the model number of your printer (e.g., AltaLink C8045), then click the magnifying glass to search
   

 

3. Click the Drivers & Downloads tab then narrow down your search by choosing the model of your printer on the left, then select Documentation - .... as shown below
   
   
   

4. Select User Documentation then click Apply Filters
   

 

5. Scroll through the resulting list until you find a user guide, then click Download to download the PDF user guide
